The Rocky Top Wine Trail’s five wineries are located along a twelve-mile stretch in the heart of one of America’s favorite vacation destinations – the Smoky Mountains. This wine trail offers over sixty unique varieties of wine to sample – from honey wines to berry based blends and sparkling wines. Best of all, each delicious sample is absolutely free.
Maximize your trip when you pick up a Rocky Top Wine Trail Passport at your first stop; then get it stamped at each winery you visit. Along the way, wine trail travelers will receive a few fun and free incentives, including a free wine glass with the Rocky Top Wine Trail logo at the third stop and a special gift at the fifth and final stop. The gifts are simply a way of saying thank you for sharing your journey through the Smoky Mountains with the Rocky Top wineries.

Eagle Springs Winery
Eagle Springs Winery is located just off of I-40 at exit 407. Open seven days a week, this winery specializes in honey wines that are perfect for summertime sipping. Enjoy sampling six different wines and pick up local honey, fudge or cheeses to pair with the wine later.
Hillside Winery is located in Sevierville, perfectly perched with a mountain view. Here you can experience an educational winery tour and learn about the winemaking process. Hillside Winery specializes in Italian style and bubbly wines and offers free tastings seven days a week. That’s right, seven! Sunday is an operational day where you can taste and purchase wines! The store also free samples of their Sweetwater Valley Cheese selections, homemade wine jellies, and summer sausages.
Apple Barn Winery
The Apple Barn Winery offers a unique spin on wine. Their handcrafted wines feature apples – a fitting homage to the massive apple orchard right outside their doors. The winery is open daily for tastings and sales. Enjoy an educational experience from their knowledgeable and friendly staff members. You can even watch the winemakers working away through a glass-walled viewing area.
Mountain Valley Winery
Mountain Valley Winery is located in the heart of the Smoky Mountains. This winery focuses mainly on making French and German style wines in addition to a great selection of fruity wines, like muscadine. Enjoy samplings of dry wines, semi-sweet wines and dessert wines. Some wine selections are even considered heart-smart!
Sugarland Cellars Winery
Sugarland Cellars Winery offers dry, semi-sweet, sweet and specialty wines. You can also witness the winemaking process here and sample their delicious product seven days a week.
The Rocky Top Wine Trail is a self-guided journey full of Smoky Mountain flavors that you can enjoy all within a day’s time, or stretch the fun out through your entire vacation. There are free samples at each location and free tours of the wine cellars. Tank rooms may be viewed between the hours of 12 pm – 5 pm at Mountain Valley Winery, Hillside Winery, and Sugarland Cellars.
