Bloomin’ BBQ from Across the Country
This competition features the best BBQ cookers from around the entire country. Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, the Tennessee State Championship Competition is sponsored by everyone who knows anything about BBQ. From Bush’s Best to the Dixie Stampede, you know that only those who really care about the best BBQ are turning out. And that means that you’ll be treated to the finest food you can find in the state. Last year’s winners were from Martinsville, VA, and the competition is just as fierce this year.
World Class Bluegrass for Your Ears
The 2017 bluegrass schedule is already filling out with some of the brightest bluegrass stars from around the nation. Grammy winner and Sevierville native Bill Mize will be performing on Saturday, May 20, so locals should be sure to catch the performance at noon. Other names include Dixie Stampede’s Mountain Ruckus, Ricky Skaggs, Joe Mullins & Radio Ramblers, Lorraine Jordan & Carolina Road, Church Sisters, Hogslop String Band, and many more.
The best part of the bluegrass performances may be at 10pm on Friday, May 19. Any musician can join in with the Late Night Jam by Dixie Stampede. Bring your instrument and have a blast with the others – or simply show up to watch the fun!
Arts and Crafts Vendors, Too!
With more than 37,000 attendees at the Bloomin’ BBQ & Bluegrass Festival, there is always something to see around every corner. Once you’ve had your fill of BBQ and music, wander through the arts and crafts vendor booths. Vendors from all over the country come to show off their hand-crafted wares.
